Swimming Tips for Beginners

Starting to swim as an adult is brave. Here is how to make it work.

Take lessons. A few sessions fix form issues you cannot see yourself.

Get comfortable in the water first. Float, breathe, relax. Comfort comes before speed.

Start with a kickboard. Legs first, arms later. Builds confidence.

Use the wall and lane line. Rest whenever you need. Nobody is timing you.

Breathe every stroke at first. Do not worry about bilateral breathing yet.

Set tiny goals. One lap without stopping. Then two. Then ten.

Be patient. Your body learns the stroke faster than your ego wants. Trust the process.
